This year’s offseason has been by far one of interesting in AEK’s great history. After getting relegated to the 3rd division there surely has been a lot of change. One thing that remained the same however is our coach Traianos Dellas who at age 37 is one of the youngest coaches in the league. Hopefully our legendary center-back can take all his great knowledge of the game and implement it to his coaching career.

We have a new look roster with even more youth. All in all from last year’s team we only have 8 remaining players, most notably Cordero who in my eyes has the talent to play in the English Premiership. We have also picked up some pretty crafty and nimble players that surely can help out next year.

Nikos Georgeas has returned, we signed two new goalkeepers, Ilias Vouras and Fotis Karagiolidis. Dimitris Grondis has signed a three year contract with AEKARA. We also signed Renaldo Rama an Albanian attack minded player who ironically played for the Olympiaco youth team in 2007. Finally the last key player that I think can make an impact next year is the Bosnian Edin Murga a very talented young midfielder who played in the Seria B before transferring to AEK.

There have been talks that we will continue to play at the Olympiaco Stadio even though we aren’t in the top flight. The first stage of the rebuilding process is over, we must now focus on gaining promotion this year which I don’t think will be an issue, we still have too much talent on the team.

For all fans we must stick together during this tough time and continue rooting on our love. Next thing you know we will be back in the top flight in 2 years time I promise you this. We now have 6 upcoming friendlies throughout all of August, in order to get ready to the start of the season which in sometime in early to mid September. Our first friendly is against Nea Ionia on the 4th.

We must once again all stick together because if just 2 years time will be back in the first flight and challenging for the championship you can have my word on that! To be honest getting relegated wasn’t that bad because every team needs to start off fresh and rebuild which is what happened in this offseason in order to come back bigger and stronger than ever. I believe in AEKARA I will stand by your side for the rest of my life now matter what.
